Croda International Plc, the company that uses smart science to create high-performance ingredients and solutions that improve lives, has announced the completion of its acquisition of Solus Biotech – a global leader in premium, biotechnology-derived beauty actives.
This latest acquisition by Croda will enhance the company’s current synthetic ceramides portfolio delivered by Sederma, drawing on Solus’ existing biotech-derived ceramide and phospholipid technologies.
Located in South Korea, Solus will expand Croda’s Asian manufacturing capability and create a new biotechnology R&D hub in the region, working in synergy with Sederma’s R&D center in LePerray, France.
Adding Solus’ exceptional knowledge and innovative ceramide portfolio significantly strengthens Croda’s beauty actives offering. Excitingly, this acquisition will also boost Croda’s total offering across its Personal Care portfolio, with Solus’ innovative phospholipids to be incorporated into Croda’s skin care and hair care franchises, sitting together across other leading formulation and product platforms.
