Darmstadt, July 31, 2025 – Merck KGaA from Darmstadt, Germany, have sold their pigments division Susonity, who have developed surface solutions since 1959, to GNMI (Global New Material International) from China. Susonity’s portfolio, known for its strong history of leadership and innovation with iconic brands like RonaFlair®, RonaCare®, Ronastar® and Timiron®, is highly complementary to GNMI’s products.
The combination will strengthen the role of Susonity as a key strategic partner for the cosmetic and actives industries, covering all product levels, customer requirements, and sustainability and legal regulations. The two companies are further increasing their power of innovation and production, adding a fourth global production location, servicing even more customers and market segments and extending their portfolio to new substrates, actives, effects, colors and materials.
