EPIONINE®Bio: Expanscience’s new active ingredient for skin and mind well-being

Laboratoires Expanscience announces the launch of its new holistic active ingredient – EPIONINE®Bio – at the In-Cosmetics 2023 trade show in Barcelona.

EPIONINE®Bio, a shift to holistic cosmetics

The organic cosmetic active ingredient EPIONINE®Bio represents an opportunity for cosmetic brands to position themselves on the holistic cosmetic segment, thus contributing to the well-being of individuals by acting on both skin and mind.

The clinical studies1 conducted during the development of EPIONINE®Bio, performed alongside specialists in psychology and neuroscience, showed numerous benefits:

  • Physical benefits, by strengthening the skin barrier and moisturizing the skin. The daily protection of dry, sensitive skin against in & out stress, which contributes to feelings of discomfort;
  • And mental benefits, since this active ingredient is able to improve an individual’s emotional state (+18%), quality of life (+21%) and self-esteem (+35%), as well as reduce their psychological stress (-11%).

A natural and organic cosmetic active ingredient which is responsibly sourced

EPIONINE®Bio is an oily active ingredient extracted from the seeds of Camellia oleifera, sustainably sourced in China, rich in precious oil molecules (unsaponifiable) obtained through molecular distillation. This process, which takes place in our Epernon production plant, is more environment-friendly as it requires no solvent. The 100% natural active ingredient is COSMOS certified.

The certification process fully reflects the will of Laboratoires Expanscience to offer cosmetic ingredients of natural origin which are respectful of biodiversity and the environment.
