Givaudan, the global leader in Fragrance & Beauty, has announced that John Gamba, Senior Perfumer, has been honoured with the 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Society of Perfumers (ASP) — one of the most prestigious recognitions in the global fragrance industry.
The award was presented on 25 June 2026 during the World Perfumery Congress held in Monterey, California. It pays tribute to Gamba’s exceptional career, marked by creative leadership across a diverse portfolio of global beauty brands and a deep commitment to mentoring the next generation of perfumers. The recognition adds to Givaudan‘s growing record of industry accolades, including its recent sweep of three awards at the PCHi China Fountain Awards for its cosmetic active ingredients.
Givaudan: Three Decades of Fragrance Excellence
With 30 years of experience as a perfumer and a background in chemistry, John Gamba first fell in love with fragrance creation in the laboratory. Over more than twenty years with Givaudan, he has crafted signature scents for a broad global portfolio of iconic brands, including Calvin Klein, Bath & Body Works, Avon and Natura, as well as acclaimed collaborations for Kim Kardashian, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera.
Voices from the World Perfumery Congress
“Distinction of this kind is deeply meaningful for Givaudan. I want to thank John, for his generosity and vision, the legacy he has built and the great contribution to the business. The award is truly well deserved.”
— Maurizio Volpi, President Fragrance & Beauty at Givaudan
“I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the American Society for this award, and to Givaudan for these wonderful years together. This craft is about continuous learning and about sharing knowledge and emotion. Every scent takes me back to my grandmother’s garden, filled with violets, mimosa and basil. I believe the purpose of fragrance is to bring happiness. I’m truly honoured to be recognised for doing what I love.”
— John Gamba, Senior Perfumer at Givaudan
