From April 16 to 18, 2024, Berg+Schmidt Care Ingredients will present its sun protection product range BergaSun at in-cosmetics Global in Paris. “Feeling good in your own skin is easier said than done. As the body’s largest organ, our skin is exposed to considerable risks, particularly from UV radiation. As UV-radiation is known to be one of the biggest contributors to skin cancer and premature skin ageing, not only classic sunscreen products but also in daily care products SPF is essential. Therefore, it is only logic for us to broaden our portfolio with modern chemical UV-filters” says Product Manager Annika Groenick. “The newly added BergaSun range will enable us to provide all ingredients required to establish a well-balanced oil-phase of an up-to-date skin care formulation. We are even more pleased that our UV filters can easily be integrated into a wide range of products such as facial fluids, light day creams, sun oil sprays, sun creams, and other skincare ranges.”

BergaSun UV-A and UV-B filters

UV radiation promotes the breakdown of collagen in the skin, which can lead to the formation of wrinkles or hyperpigmentation. Most skincare products today contain UV filters that offer protection against UVA and UVB rays. However, the right composition of the individual ingredients is essential.

BergaSun BEMT is an effective oil-soluble broadband filter that effectively blocks both UVA and UVB rays. Its high photostability makes it particularly useful for stabilizing other sunscreens. BergaSun EHS, on the other hand, is a chemical UVA filter that provides broad coverage together with effective UVB filters and can help to increase the sun protection factor. Its outstanding photostability, good solubility and flexible formulation make it an excellent choice for modern sun protection products, while BergaSun EHT offers an effective solution for UVB protection. As an oil-soluble filter, it can be easily integrated into the oil phase of emulsions or sunscreen formulations and leaves the skin feeling pleasant and non-greasy. Finally, BergaSun DHHB offers another highly effective oil-soluble UVB filter. Its synergistic effect in combination with other UV filters makes it a valuable component in sun protection products.
