Shin-Etsu Silicones Unveils New Vision of Sensory Innovation at in-cosmetics Global 2026

Shin-Etsu Silicones Europe B.V. (SESE: Head Office The Netherlands: A subsidiary of Shin-Etsu Chemical Co. Ltd., Japan) recently presented a new generation of innovative, high-performance raw materials at the world’s leading event for personal care ingredients––in-cosmetics® Global (Paris, France: April 14–16 2026). Throughout the event, SESE showcased the materials at a texture bar at their booth, which highlighted their ability to support formulators across a wide range of galenic systems including O/W, W/Si, and W/O emulsions––as well as aqueous gels, powders, bi-phases, and anhydrous textures.

The materials and textures presented were all designed to enhance sensory experience and meet current cosmetic market expectations in terms of naturality, performance, and innovation––providing the opportunity to stay ahead in an increasingly competitive cosmetic market when used in formulations. Several key ingredients were launched during the show including:

SESE Innovative Raw Materials

KF-6070W / INCI: PEG-17 DIMETHICONE
A water-soluble silicone wax, ideal for creating smooth, hydrating, and soft O/W textures. KF-6070W is also easy to incorporate into water and gives a moist feel by forming a soft layer and melts smoothly on the skin. A wide range of textures of O/W systems or formulations are achievable.

KF-6080W / INCI: CETYL PEG/PPG-10-1 DIMETHICONE
A high-performance O/W emulsifier compatible with organic oils and organic UV filters, enabling the formulation of highly stable emulsions. It is a polyether-modified silicone emulsifier with alkyl branches. It shows excellent emulsifying performance for a wide range of oils, while also being fluid, non-tacky with a smooth texture. KF-6080W can be applied to a wide variety of formulations and new textures are achievable.

WHP-100MS / INCI: MICA, HYDRATED SILICA
A hybrid powder with a Natural Origin Index of 1 delivering an intense soft-focus effect, with a silky feel and high oil absorption. WHP-100MS features a unique coating with silica to diffuse light, provide soft focus effect, and gliding properties. Ultimately, it allows for a wide variety of textures and finishing appearances.

KSG-16-SF and KSG-19-PF / INCI: DIMETHICONE & DIMETHICONE/VINYL DIMETHICONE CROSSPOLYMER
These are non-emulsifying silicone elastomer gels providing enhanced blurring effects or a sophisticated powdery feel, respectively. SF Type provides a high soft-focus effect and the PF Type provides a light, powdery texture.

X-52-7162 / INCI: CELLULOSE (and) SILICA (and) DIMETHICONE/VINYL DIMETHICONE CROSSPOLYMER
A silicone-coated cellulose powder that is easy to disperse and designed to boost soft-focus effects in formulations with a powdery (smooth/soft) sensory feel. X-52-7162 helps conceal wrinkles, pores, and other skin problems. It contains spherical cellulose particles with silicone rubber on the surface (<1%).
